Who We Are

A Century of Conservation and Care

Paignton Zoo is one of the United Kingdom’s leading conservation zoos.

Founded in 1923, the zoo has grown from a pioneering private collection into a modern institution dedicated to wildlife care, scientific collaboration and public education. Set across 80 acres in Devon, we care for more than 1,800 animals and cultivate around 1,600 plant species as part of our commitment to protecting biodiversity.

Our work connects local action with global conservation networks, combining heritage with forward-looking responsibility.
